Disclaimer and Terms of Use for Weather Information on This Site

The information provided here is intended to help those who are planning outdoor activities in Colorado's high country. Where indicated, the sources of this forecast information are official and experimental National Weather Service forecasts. Other sources from the Internet including models, upper-air data, and local observations are also included. By using this information you agree that you use this information at your own risk, recognizing that weather is inherently unpredictable, more at some times than other times. The owner of this web site assumes no responsibility for your decisions or actions. By using this web site, you agree to hold harmless from and indemnify the owner and operator of this web page of any liability, financial or otherwise, resulting from any decision or action taken by you.

The weather can vary tremendously from ridge to valley and on each side of the Continental Divide. The alpine zone above timberline has inherent dangers including thunderstorms, avalanches, temperature extremes, high winds, and thin air -- all of which can be deadly. Always be prepared for the worst possible conditions that could be experienced on the day of your activity. If weather turns threatening, turn around. Know your escape routes. Always inquire locally about trail/route conditions and let someone know where you will be, which route you are taking, and when you are returning. It is never good to hike or climb alone.
